In this leadership session with Leadership Facilitator Chris Molina, the students learned about the importance of being good listeners and communicators, as well as skills on how to be better at both. The students were taught about active listening – “listen like it matters”.

Molina had a few of the students act out two different scenarios: one where a student acted completely disinterested while the other spoke about something they were passionate about and another where that student listened intently and actively during the other student’s passionate conversation.

The students were guided through some tips for being better listeners as well as better communicators, and this included understanding the various degrees of warmth and competency in the workplace.
