Yesterday evening we had writer and illustrator Claire Jia join us as a guest speaker. Jia co-wrote for the indie game WE ARE OFK and has worked on television shows such as Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens, Fresh Off The Boat, and Clarice.
Her writing has appeared in The New York Times Modern Love column, Reductress, The Rumpus, The Establishment, and more. She makes zines under the moniker Cabbage King as well, which she spoke to the students about.
Jia spoke to the students about how to make a living as a creative person and write. She spoke about her work writing for television as well as writing across mediums.
